“I befriended the legendary Buddy Miles. He inspired me and made me realize, not just that I was worthy, but that I belonged to a set of musicians that included the likes of Miles, Hendrix and so many others. It was then I formed my own quartet “The Zafari Project”. I was driven to change the way the world heard jazz with my own original music. I was ready.”

“I came to Madrid alone, but I found a family with Gypsies musicians. We would jam in caves and they would entrust in me their secrets. It was a beautiful time in my life. They inspired my first solo album.”
